John Robb (military theorist)

John M. Robb Jr is a United states author, blogger and entrepreneur who writes mainly about Fourth Generation War and modern web technologies.

In 2007 he published his book Brave New War, describing the "Global Guerrilla thesis" he has been developing over the last few years. His thesis has contributed to the overall understanding of the "Global War on Terror" and specifically the current Iraq War. Numerous other contemporary military theorists have critiqued and stated the importance of the work John Robb has done, including Thomas P.M. Barnett,[1] William Lind, and Chet Richards[2]

He resigned his Air Force commission with the rank of Major in August 1992. He is currently 46.

Global Guerrillas

In March 2004, John Robb started his blog Global Guerrillas in an effort to catalog and describe the evolution of system disruption and open-source warfare within the Iraqi Insurgency and around the world.

First published an Op-Ed in the New York Times, later followed by an article in Fast Company, based on a Global Guerrilla driven worldview.

In April/May 2007, his book Brave New War was published by John Wiley and Sons, based on his Global Guerrillas work. He has since begun his book on Resilient Communities.
